d&ad

July 2, 2009

From preperation, putting up, taking to great people then taking down, D&AD was a great success for us this year. Our central ‘conversational table’ was fantastic. It all paid off.

objectified ticket arrived

March 24, 2009

Objectified is a feature-length documentary about our complex relationship with manufactured objects and, by extension, the people who design them. It’s a look at the creativity at work behind everything from toothbrushes to tech gadgets. It’s about the designers who re-examine, re-evaluate and re-invent our manufactured environment on a daily basis. It’s about personal expression, identity, consumerism, and sustainability.

Marcus Harvey – White Riot

March 21, 2009

If your passing the White Cube gallery in Hoxton square you’ll be sure to notice Maggie Thatcher, peering at you through the door. This is an experimental installation by Marcus Havey. The title is taken from the legends that are the Clash. It is made up from 15,000 plaster-cast objects; vegetables to sex toys. Based on Maggie herself being a daughter of a grocer and her direct association towards femininity.

White Cube – Kneebone

March 20, 2009

White Cube Hoxton Square -  ‘The Descent’, by artist Rachel Kneebone. Her work is in white porcelain. This is her largest sculpture to date. The detail is amazing – ‘an attempt to access the state through making an equivalent in beauty’.

Air France

March 20, 2009

Well, Air France restructuring themselves within a difficult market. A new identity, replacing its last update since 1975, has been designed by Brandimage. The new direction of the logo is nice but still I love the old mark. It now ahs a feel of BA and even Delta with the smoothness.
